    Math on the Digital SAT

The Math section is two modules of 22 questions, and the built-in Desmos calculator changes how you should approach a lot of them. Knowing which skill a question is testing, and whether to reach for Desmos, is most of the battle.

These guides group the 18 skills into the four official domains. Start with the domain costing you the most points, or work top to bottom. Each skill has its own page with the strategies that work, practice questions with worked solutions, and the Desmos move when there is one.

How the Math section is built

    • Two modules of 22 questions in 35 minutes each, so 44 questions and 70 minutes in total.
    • The section is adaptive. Module 1 mixes easy, medium, and hard questions, and how you do on it routes you into an easier or harder Module 2. That second module sets the score range you can reach.
    • The four domains are not grouped. They are mixed through each module and ordered easiest to hardest overall, so any domain can appear anywhere: Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry.
